The result is delectable enough to make your mouth water, evoking endless days of leisure by the pool.
De Jaeger has been perfecting the art of mixology for years, most recently as part-owner of the award-winning Bravo Restaurant and Lounge with Damian Du Plessis.
And when he’s not busy preparing meal and drink menus for the masses, he’s atop the restaurant’s roof, caring for the many herbs and plants that end up as daily fare.
And it’s no different with the drinks.
Fans of the restaurant will know that Bravo is continually experimenting with infused drinks. The newly-created Razzello cocktail puts raspberry infused vodka together with cranberry and lemon flavours, creating a drink that will be welcome as the temperature heats up.
“This is a fun, summery cocktail,” De Jaeger says. “It’s something new for the summer, and the idea is you just use what’s fresh at the time. Keep changing it up, and don’t be afraid to experiment.”
He says not every experiment is a success, but you have to keep trying.
“You learn from those mistakes,” he says. “And it’s all for fun, anyway.”
But, if you can’t get it right there are several variations of the same trick, including 48 different martinis, at Bravo, downtown Chilliwack.
Mix all wet ingredients, adding the crushed ice and raspberries, mint and garnish when ready to serve,
And enjoy!
